WHY SHOULD I BE INVOLVED IN MY CHILD'S EDUCATION?

THE FACTS

Studies show “that the most consistent predictor of a child’s academic achievement is the parents’ expectations and involvement” (Department of Education, Michigan, 2001)

Of the general public surveyed “86% believe that support from parents is the most important way to improve schools.” (Department of Education)

Parents are vital to the success of our kids. Parents as educational partners is essential in creating educational equity and success for our young people. We all play a role in socializing and educating our children, yet parents are needed now more than ever. This site was developed to keep parents "in the loop," assist parents with the schooling process and difficult issues, and inform parents on how they can help their child at home.

Remember "it takes a village to raise a child," but we must all be a part of that village!
